Kotalipara is also known to be the capital of Vanga in the sixth century AD. So the history and tradition of Tungipara near Kotalipara in Gopalganj is as ancient as it is important. Sheikh Mujubur Rahman was born in the month of March, 1920. Fifty years after his birth in March, he made the month auspicious and unforgettable in the history of the Bengali nation. He declared the independence of the Bengali people in March and became the Father of the Nation. And now, another 50 years later, the Bangladeshi people have celebrated the Golden Jubilee of independence.
