Abstract: All the copperplate inscriptions of the Pala era are related to land grants. A long list of royal officials is found in almost every one of these copperplates. The list includes the titles of everyone from the highest administrative officers of the state to the lowest-ranking royal servant, and all of them are collectively termed as 'Rajapādopajīvī'. Apart from this, the list also includes the presence of some local dignitaries who were involved in local governance. In the lists, these royalists are not only mentioned in detail, from the director of the state administration to the servant class, all of them are mentioned in the same platform, giving them a place of honor. The descriptions of these officials in the inscriptions of Pala era provide significant insights into the administrative system of that time. Moreover, the inscriptions also provide evidence that many of these royal officials were directly involved in the administrative duties of the state.
